Production of definitive data from Indonesian geomagnetic observatories

چکیده

Abstract. Measurement of the geomagnetic field in Indonesia is undertaken by Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG). Routine activities at each observatory include determination declination, inclination, total using absolute variation measurements. The oldest Tangerang (TNG), started 1957, followed Tuntungan (TUN) 1980, Tondano (TND) 1990, Pelabuhan Ratu (PLR) Kupang (KPG) 2000, Jayapura (JAY) 2012. One main obligations a to produce final versions data, released as definitive for year make them widely available both scientific non-scientific purposes, example World Data Centre Geomagnetism (WDC-G). Unfortunately, some Indonesian observatories do not share their data with WDC-G often have difficulty producing data. In addition, more basic problems still exist, such low-quality due anthropogenic or instrumental noise, lack data-processing knowledge, limited observer training. this study, we report on production from observatories, recommendations are provided about how improve quality. These methods approaches applicable other institutes seeking enhance quality utility, modelling space weather monitoring. years 2010 2018 now WDC-G.

important parameters to locate new geomagnetic observatories to develop geomagnetic studies in iran

geomagnetic observatories are constructed to continuously record the earth’s geomagnetic field. the importance of such buildings has resulted in an increasing construction of geomagnetic observatories all over the world. although geomagnetic observatories are sometimes unknown to most people and even some scientists, these very important data centers have been measuring the geomagnetic field fo...

The 2014 geomagnetic jerk as observed by southern African magnetic observatories

Rapid secular variation pulses in the Earth’s geomagnetic field have been identified during the last decade. In particular, the 2014 jerk is the latest in a series of localised rapid secular variation events observed at the Earth’s surface which are thought to be the result of rapid oscillations at the core surface approximately at a depth of 3000 km. In Southern Africa, the 2014 jerk has been ...

The Analysis of Baselines for Different Fluxgate Theodolites of Geomagnetic Observatories

This paper analyzes the baselines of 8 geomagnetic observatories in the China Magnetic Observatory Network. The baselines of similar variometers were measured by two different fluxgate theodolites during the same time period. The results demonstrate that two baseline values measured by two independent absolute instruments did not completely coincide for the same components even though the diffe...

Modelling Geomagnetic Activity Data

Strong geomagnetic activity is a hazard to electronics and electric power facilities. Assessment of the actual geomagnetic activity level from local magnetometer monitoring therefore is of importance for risk assessment but also in earth sciences and exploration. Wavelet based signal processing methods are applied to extract meaningful information from magnetic field time series in a noisy envi...
